Frank drives a 1999 Ford Taurus
Station Wagon. Even though it is eight years old, it is like new.
The total maintenance has been a battery, tires, fuel filter, and
oil changes. Nothing Else! The quality criticism of American cars no
longer applies.
We urgently need jobs back in
America. Buy American cars only, and nothing else. Most foreign cars
get as bad mileage as American cars.
Hybrids are a swindle. The
electricity in hybrids is made by the tiny gasoline engine, which is
a most inefficient way to generate electricity. If you take all the
electrical parts out of a Toyota Prius, it will get almost the same
mileage because it is a light weight, streamlined car with a small
engine.
There is no reason that Ford,
Chrysler cannot build nice, quiet, comfortable cars that get 45 mpg.
